Privacy policy

Flagsweeper is a two-player game. This policy explains what data the game and its server handle, why, and what control you have over it. We keep it as small as the game allows: there are no ads, no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.

What we collect and why

• Sign-in identity. You sign in with Google Play Games (Android) or Apple Game Center (iOS). We receive your player identifier and your gamer tag (display name) from Apple or Google. We use the identifier to recognise your account and the gamer tag to show you to your opponents and on leaderboards. We do not receive your email address, and we do not keep the sign-in tokens Google or Apple issue during sign-in.
• Game data. Your matches, moves, scores, results and your skill rating and win counts. This is needed to run the game, decide winners, rank players and show your games to you and your opponent.
• Friends and invites. If you use friends or invite links: who you are friends with and the invite links you create or accept.
• Notification token. If you allow notifications: the device token Apple or Google gives the app, used only to tell you it is your turn or that a turn is about to expire.
• Technical data. Like any server, ours processes your IP address and request details while you are connected, and keeps them in short-lived server logs for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any advertising identifier.

Who can see what

Other players can see your gamer tag, your scores in games you share, and your position on the leaderboards.

How long we keep it

• Finished games are removed for everyone 24 hours after they end.
• Your account, rating and friends are kept until you delete your account.
• Server logs are kept for a limited period of 30 days, and then deleted.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. It is processed by the services needed to run the game: Apple and Google (sign-in and, if you enable them, notification delivery), and Cloudflare, which serves this website and therefore sees the IP address of its visitors.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or a copy of your data, and object to its processing, by contacting us. You can delete your account yourself in the app under Settings, Delete account (see how account deletion works). If you are in the EU you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Children

Flagsweeper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
